Marcelo Suarez is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Transportation Engineering with RailTEC program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He is a graduate research assistant working with the infrastructure team and focuses on benefits of under sleeper pads in railroad industry and its implementation in North America. He has two years’ experience in road and bridge construction in his home country Ecuador, and has particular interest in the development of light rail transit and high speed rail systems around the world.
