Professional Interests

Matthew Csenge is currently pursuing his master’s degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He works as a graduate research assistant within the Railroad Transportation Engineering Center (RailTEC). Matthew’s research focuses on railroad infrastructure, including bending capacity of plastic composite railroad ties, and design of concrete crossties and fastening systems. Academically, Matthew is interested in track design, maintenance, and construction of rapid transit and commuter rail systems.
