Professional Interests

Gio DiDomenico earned his Master’s Degree in 2015 within the RailTEC railway systems group at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Academically, Gio was interested in passenger rail design, system optimization, high-speed rail and public transit. His research focused on passenger rail energy consumption and railway system analysis. Gio hopes to design passenger rail or high-speed rail systems later in his career.

M.S. Thesis:

FACTORS AFFECTING COMMUTER RAIL ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND ITS COMPARISON WITH COMPETING PASSENGER TRANSPORTATION MODES
