Professional Interests

Marcelo earned his Master's Degree in 2015 in Transportation Engineering with the RailTEC program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During his time at UIUC as a graduate research assistant he worked with the infrastructure team focusing on benefits of under sleeper pads in railroad industry and its implementation in North America. He has two years’ experience in road and bridge construction in his home country Ecuador, and has particular interest in the development of light rail transit and high speed rail systems around the world
