Education

Ryan Kernes earned his B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2010 and his M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in December 2013.

Professional Interests

As a graduate research assistant in the Railroad Engineering Program at UIUC, his research focused on improving the performance and service life of concrete crossties in North American freight and passenger service. Ryan was a Research Engineer for RailTEC before starting work at GIC America in June 2014.
