Nao Nishio is pursuing her Master’s degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research interests are in the areas of railroad yard design and rail transit development. She also has a personal interest in sustainable rail transit in the U.S. and Japan. Nao has a minor in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Illinois and hopes to combine her engineering and planning skills in her research.
