Chris Barkan, Executive Director of RailTEC, participated in the Rail Safety Forum: Transportation of Crude Oil and Ethanol sponsored by the National Transportation Safety Board on April 22 – 23, 2014. Crude oil and ethanol transportation by rail has seen tremendous growth in North America over the last decade, altering the way these flammable liquids are transported. Barkan was an invited panelist for the Rail Operations and Approaches to Risk Management Panel and gave a presentation on: “Optimizing Rail Transportation and Safety Improvement”.
