July 2016: The third RailTEC alumni to receive this award, M. Rapik Saat, a former RailTEC Research Assistant Professor who is currently working for the Association of American Railroads as their Director of Operations Analysis, was honored on Sunday, July 24, as one of the railroad industry’s “Rising Stars” by Progressive Railroading magazine. This award recognizes people under the age of 40 who are making a positive difference in the North American railroad industry. Rapik was chosen as one of 20 award winners out of nearly 140 nominees. This year’s honorees were chosen based on their contributions to the railroad industry, career achievements, demonstrated leadership, professional association activity or community involvement.
