RailTEC Welcomes K-12 Students

Aug 2016: On Wednesday, August 3 RailTEC faculty and students welcomed 21 students from the Next Generation School STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) Summer Camp. This innovative summer program provides real-world experiences for students in grades 3-5 in the Champaign-Urbana area. Camp the week of August 1 was titled “STEAMventions” and focused on some of the most important inventions of the past century from steam engine trains to nanotechnology. On the day the students spent on campus, they focused on railroad planning, construction and safety, as well as investigating the physics of rail transportation. Click here for more pictures.
