Professional Interests
Derek obtained his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University in 2024. During his time there, Derek worked on undergraduate research for a year, and TA’d for one semester. Derek’s research interest is in grade crossing analysis and risk, utilizing data to better understand causes of accidents and how to prevent them. Professionally, Derek is interested in rail safety and its application to public transportation systems and passenger rail.
