Dr. Rapik Saat, Research Assistant Professor with RailTEC, has been invited to give a special seminar on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 on the topic “Optimizing Railroad Transportation Safety Improvement” on the University of Illinois Chicago campus. This presentation will illustrate optimization models to consider different risk reduction strategies, independently and in combination, in the context of railroad hazardous materials transportation. An overview of on-going research related to passenger trains on shared rail corridors with freight trains will also be presented.
