March 2016: RailTEC Research Assistant Professor, Rapik Saat, has been selected by Progressive Railroading Magazine for their “Rising Stars” award. The Rising Stars program recognizes people under the age of 40 who are making a positive difference in railroading through their company, organization, department or team. Rising Stars are viewed by others as up-and-coming leaders in the railroad industry. Rapik will be honored on July 24, 2016 at the AAR Superintendents’ 2016 Annual Meeting. This is the second year in a row where a RailTEC faculty member has received this honor. Last year Riley Edwards, RailTEC Research Scientist and Senior Lecturer, received the award.
