Arthur obtained his bachelor’s degree from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, Brazil. During his undergraduate studies, he received a full government scholarship for a one-year study abroad program at the Technical University of Dresden, Germany, where he focused on construction and operation of railways. Since 2018 Arthur has been employed by MRS, one of the largest railroads in Brazil. Being part of their Track Reliability Department, he applies big data concepts to feed the railroad’s track maintenance plan. Arthur’s research interests are analyzing track data to develop track health indices to prioritize maintenance activities.
