Professional Interests

Jose Augusto obtained his bachelor’s degree from The Federal University of Technology – Parana, Brazil. During his undergraduate studies, he undertook a one-semester study abroad program at the National Institute of Applied Sciences in Rennes, France, where he focused on the study of infrastructure works. From 2020 to 2023, José Augusto worked at Rumo, the largest railroad in Brazil, working in the areas of Track Maintenance Engineering, Maintenance Intelligence Center as well as in the Research and Development & Data sector, always working in the development of solutions for the railroad through Data Science, Machine Learning, and computer simulations. Jose Augusto’s research interests are in working with Data Science to bring impactful solutions to real railroad problems.
