April 2015: RailTEC researchers just published their final report for the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) on “Identification of High-Speed Rail Ballast Flight Risk Factors and Risk Mitigation Strategies”. The purpose of this report is to identify the potential causes and hazard consequences of ballast flight, review potential risk mitigation strategies, and examine relevance of ballast flight risks in the current and planned U.S. passenger rail system.
